Move Over Shamrock Shake - THIS Is The Ultimate Boozy St. Patrick's Day #FreakFrappe

Today's post brought to you today by Christina Orso, Marketing Director, food blogger, and chocolate connoisseur.

If you're a fan of Boston Burger Company, you already know we take what ordinary people do and make it bigger. Bigger, better, and tastier. Have you SEEN our burgers? They're large.

Last year we took it upon ourselves to increase the size of something else. No, no, get your head out of the gutter. We're talking about milkshakes. Frappes if you're in New England -- get it right before you order one. Whether you're vanilla or you're chocolate, or somewhere in the twisted middle, we have a frappe for you.

And while we have our core list of frappes at all three restaurants, we also have a rotating monthly special that'll make your eyes bug out. You'll stare at it in disbelief. You'll drool a little. Then you'll hop on the T and make your way over because there's just no way you're not tasting this.

Our March special is what we consider a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. With a hell of a lot more green than that meteorological phenomenon people seem to lose their shit over. Get your tastebuds ready, because we're about to Shamrock Your World.

  • 6 oz. whole milk
  • 5 peppermint patties
  • mint-flavored vodka, if you like to get weird
  • chocolate syrup
  • green food coloring

  • Lucky Charms cereal
  • green sugar/sprinkles
  • a slice of Irish Cream Mousse Cake
  • Whipped cream

  1.  Coat top two inches of a pint glass with green frosting. Don't be afraid to lay it on thick. Pour some Lucky Charms onto a flat plate then roll frosted rim around to coat with cereal. Add pieces by hand if necessary. Layer it up!!
  2. In a blender, whip ice cream, milk, peppermint patties, 2 drops of green food coloring, and booze if you decided to get weird. Blend for 1 minute or until smooth.
  3. Drizzle inside of pint glass with chocolate syrup. Pour frappe in glass, leaving about 1/4 inch unfilled. Fill remainder with whipped cream.
  4. Place a slice of Irish Cream Mousse Cake. Add more whipped cream because why not. Sprinkle with sugar and drizzle with more chocolate syrup. Slurp, slurp, ENJOY!!!

Hint hint: St. Paddy's Day is on Friday. We party hard in Boston. You can drink your green beer, or you can drink this. Or both... See ya at the BBC.

5 Ways BBC Can Solve your Election Blues this November

The 2016 election seems like a no win situation but hey, not everyone has to lose. In the #BBCBurgerLab you can win all day, everyday especially with our new fall goodies. Here are 5 ways BBC can cure your election PTSD and unlike the others, they will never disappoint.

 1. The American Hero Frappe: Ditch those hot messes and join the is guaranteed to be very sweet. Our new candidate is dressed in patriotic sprinkles, American flag swag and Twizzlers that will automatically brighten up your day. AND you get the choice between vanilla or strawberry ice cream. Talk about home of the free and the brave. Come in with an "I Voted" sticker, get some dollars off (you deserve it). And while you're at it...thank the veterans who served our country all of these years.

2.  Fall Sangria: We just sent out a fall sangria recipe that is so good, you'll be #wining until you get it next. Throw your P.J.s on and brew up a batch for this coming weekend. You might REALLY need it.

3. We'll bring you to Hawaii: Alright, don't be greedy. We can't send you overseas but how about we bring the vacation to you? BurgaBox just launched a November feast and it is a Hula dance in a box. After you cook up the Maui Waui Burgers, Aloha Fries and Don Ho Mac & Cheese, all of your holiday problems will wash away into the sunset, with a coconut drink in hand. You have until November 10th to order this baby. So just do it.

4. Focus on the Snacks: More people will watch the Super Bowl than vote in this election. Therefore, it looks like our priorities are in the snacks and we have a long list that will score with any Sunday football crowd.

5. You can just vote for usDon't get stressed over this impossible decision. In our poll, you get to choose the real Hot Mess you want to vote for in this election.

Now do you want to escape to another country? Yeah...we knew you would change your mind.

BBC's "Pitcher Perfect" Fall Sangria

Haha. You thought sangria season was over. Nope. Not in the #BBCBurgerLab. If you haven't tried our Autumn Cider Sangria in our restaurants, you now have a chance to make it at home.

It's Thursday so #winenot brew up some of the good stuff and invite a few friends over.

It's easy to make, and even easier to be responsible kids.

  • 1 Gallon of Apple Cider
  • 4 Honey Crisp Apples
  • 3 cups of Dried Figs (cut in half)
  • 3 cups of Dried Cranberries

8 Signs that you Might be #Basic this Fall...And We Aren't Helping

Pumpkin products are in full force and we couldn't just sit this one out. Fall in New England is pretty ideal and everyone is taking photos (of the same darn things!). We've been seeing endless pictures of pumpkin patches and those huge scarves flooding Instagram and thought, "we need to make our people happy."

If you didn't know fall could get more basic, we might have just one-upped everyone. Oops. We created a frappe that will make your jaw drop (along with your PSL).

And if you weren't sure, here are 8 signs that you might already be #basic this early in the fall season...and we are surprised to say that we're number 1.

1. You're already obsessed with "It's the Greatest Pumpkin Frappe": We just launched probably the most basic treat in #BBCLab for National Frappe Day and we aren't mad about it. It's got vanilla ice cream, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice, a graham cracker rim and pumpkin candies. We will be serving it during the month of October which gives you enough time to Instagram it. And If you're feeling boozy, spike it with UFO Pumpkin.

2. You have a picture at Colby Farms Sunflower Patch or have serious regret that you didn't get there in time.

3. You went to Harpoonfest last weekend and can't get enough of their Flannel Friday beer....which we also have on tap!

4. You went apple picking and ended up with more apples than you really wanted. We can help you with that. Or try our Vermonster burger. It's amazing.

5. You pushed the season and got a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte the minute they came out. (Refer back to number 1...way more worth it)

6. You and your crew have a picture in a pumpkin patch. Maybe even an awkward family photo.

7. You already have plans to go Salem this month and dress up like witch.

8. You're on a sweet potato kick. And in that case, ask Phantom Gourmet how good our sweet potato fries are...or just watch this video

See you soon at the BBC! The Great Pumpkin Frappe is waiting on you...
